Song Guosheng, a well-known erhu performer, educator, composer,Erhu Professor of the Department of Folk Music, Tianjin Conservatory of Music, master tutor.
Former director of the Department of Folk Music of Tianjin Conservatory of Music and vice chairman of the Erhu Society of the Chinese Musicians Association (now a consultant).
Won the third prize of the 4th “Shanghai Spring” National Erhu Competition and the New Works Excellent Performance Award, the Chinese Musical Instrument Competition “The Gardener Award”, Tianjin city “Famous Teacher Award”, “Teaching Model Award”, “Tianjin Lu Xun Literary Creation Award”, the “National Art Lifetime Contribution Award” of the National Orchestra Society, and the “District Hexi Outstanding Music Education Award” by the Ministry of Culture.
He has published monographs “Erhu Performance Art”, “Introduction to Huqin Family Performance” (co-authored with Song Fei) and a large number of academic papers, and has maintained a leading position in theory.
He created more than 200 solos and TV series musical works, such as “The Elderly Couple Learning Maoxuan”, “Yu Xiang Xing”, and “Sister Yang’s Complaint”, which were well received by the masses.
He pioneered the Erhu comprehensive teaching method, formed his own teaching system, and trained many outstanding talents such as Song Fei.
He continued to innovate in the performance of erhu, and was widely known as “Song’s Qin Yun” with his sincere emotion and strong style.
He was one of the first group of experts and scholars to enjoy government subsidies from the State Council and one of the leading figures in Tianjin’s folk music industry.

宋国生，著名二胡演奏家、教育家，作曲家，天津音乐学院民乐系二胡教授，硕士生导师。原天津音乐学院民乐系主任，中国音乐家协会二胡学会副会长（现为顾问）。曾获第四届“上海之春”全国二胡比赛三等奖和新作品优秀演奏奖，中国乐器比赛“园丁奖”，天津市“名师奖”，“教学楷模奖”，“天津市鲁迅文艺创作奖”，民族管弦乐学会“民族艺术终生贡献奖”，文化部“区和熙优秀音乐教育奖”。曾出版专著《二胡演奏艺术》《胡琴家族演奏入门》（与宋飞合著）以及大量学术论文，在理论上保持了领先地位。他创作的《老两口学毛选》《豫乡行》《杨三姐告状》等200多部声乐，器乐，电视剧音乐作品深受群众欢迎。他开创了二胡综合教学法，形成了自己的教学体系，培养了宋飞等众多优秀人才。他在二胡演奏上不断创新，并以情感真挚，风格浓郁被广泛誉为“宋氏琴韵”。他是首批享受国务院政府津贴的专家学者，天津市民乐界领军人物之一。
